sokosoko is a writing environment for quick drafting. It is privacy-preserving – no account is needed, no logs are collected, and all data is stored in the browser.

ototoi

ototoi — the day before yesterday in Japanese — is an open-source, self-hosted checkin and lifelogging web app.
Given ototoi is self-hosted and only you control who gets an account on your instance, your data privacy is preserved and in your hands. It uses OpenStreetMap data for looking up locations.

A great way to enjoy early 2010s nostalgia like Foursquare or Gowalla, but with privacy built in.

Rabbit Rabbit

An alternative interpretation of Geohashing. Born out of the xkcd #426 comic strip, Geohashing is a game of spontaneous adventure generation. Rabbit Rabbit uses a smaller grid, allowing for easier access by foot or bicycle, and instead of using the daily opening price of the Dow Jones, each day it uses the most up to date CO₂ readings from the Mauna Loa Observatory in Hawaii, USA to seed the algorithm.

It all started with this blog post on An Experimental Approach to Automated Walking and over the years, we did many test walks at the studio, in our home area and in Japan. The code is open source, but there is still some work left to provide a stable service.
